How to Print an Envelope
Envelopes are a staple in the business world for mailing documents, letters, certificates, pictures, and more. They’re usually sized to match their contents with standard sizes such as #10 (a 9-1/2” envelope) or #9 (8-7/8”). They can also be customized and printed for special events and promotions.
There are several ways to print an envelope, but the easiest way is through a template in Word or Publisher. Open either program and choose ‘New.’ You can then select the option to search online for a template, or you can enter a specific size in the search box. Envelope templates typically have designated areas for the delivery and return addresses, making it easy to add and change information.
Once you’ve found a template that fits your needs, double-check the address and size information to make sure it’s correct. Then, click the Print button. Make sure you’re printing on an envelope that matches the envelope size you selected in the options tab. If not, you may need to adjust the paper size and print again.
Finally, place your envelope(s) in your printer according to the manufacturer’s instructions. When the envelopes have been printed, check that they’re oriented correctly. Also, be aware that there’s a slight shift in placement after the envelopes are cut and folded, so you may find that graphics don’t line up exactly as you thought they would. That’s because the flat sheet is shifted slightly as it’s cut and folded into an envelope shape.
